Kish Island, Iran, February 17, 2017 – Lorenz Schumann/Julius Thole of Germany and top seeds Piotr Kantor/Bartosz Losiak of Poland will face the second-seeded Nikita Liamin/Viacheslav Krasilnikov and fourth-seeded Oleg Stoyanovskiy/Artem Yarzutkin of Russia, respectively, in the final four of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Kish Island 3-Star 2017 on Saturday, February 18.
Schumann/Thole earned a chance to win a place on the podium of the World Tour for the first time when they upstaged Markus Bockermann/Lars Fluggen in three sets, earning them a match against Liamin/Krasilnikov in the first semifinal at 11.00 local time.
Polish duo Kantor/Losiak eliminated the lone Asian side in the quarterfinal – Cole Durant and Zachery Schubert of Australia – and will attempt to outplay last year’s Kish Island runners-up Stoyanovskiy/Yarzutkin in the second semifinal at 12.00.
