Stoyanovskiy/Yarzutkin claim bronze at Kish Island

 
Kish Island, February 18, 2017 – Russia’s Oleg Stoyanovskiy and Artem Yarzutkin made it to the podium again at Kish Island, this time winning bronze at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Kish Island 3-Star 2017 on Saturday.

Stoyanovskiy/Yarzutkin defeated Germany’s Lorenz Schumann and Julius Thole 2-1 (13-21, 21-17, 15-7) at the Kish Marine Recreational and Sports Complex.

Russia's Artem Yarzutkin has won two World Tour medals at Kish Island and a gold medal at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

The Russians rallied from a set down to defeat the Germans and claim their second World Tour medal. They have been playing together since 2014, when they won their first gold at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing.



Schumann/Thole have been playing since 2016 and are participating in their fifth World Tour event. Their fourth-place finish at the Kish Island 3-Star 2017 is their highest achievement on the World Tour.
