Agatha aiming for three in a row at Super Praia

Lausanne, Switzerland, April 27, 2017 – Agatha Bednarczuk will again be chasing Super Praia glory this weekend, but for the first time she will be doing so in tandem with Eduarda ‘Duda’ Lisboa Santos.

Icarai beach in Niteroi will be the scene for the final act of the Brazil Beach Volleyball Tour when it hosts the Super Praia tournament from Thursday April 27 to Sunday April 30.

For the last two years Agatha and Barbara Seixas topped the podium. It was part of a phenomenal two years for the pair which also included winning gold at the Netherlands 2015, FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship and silver at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games.

Since she teamed up with Duda following Rio 2016, they have won silver on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour at the Fort Lauderdale Major Series Tournament and gold on the Brazil Tour at Jaoa Pessoa.

“With Duda we are still in the beginning of our partnership,” Agatha said. “So far we have done very well and have always had the spirit of wanting to fight for the highest podium finish in every tournament.

“This is the most important event on the Brazilian Tour, where all the best teams take place."

The same is true for Alvaro Filho and Saymon Santos, who won the men’s Tour title, but they will need to dethrone Rio 2016 and Netherland 2015 champions Alison Cerutti and Bruno Schmidt who currently hold the Super Praia title.
