Lausanne, Switzerland, February 1, 2017 – Alison Cerutti and Bruno Schmidt will return to the city of their greatest triumph when they compete in the
‘Giants of the Beach’ tournament at the Olympic Tennis Centre at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Park on Sunday February 5.
The pair won Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games gold a few kilometres around the coast at Copacabana Beach and they will take on the USA’s Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena, who they defeated in the quarterfinals at Rio 2016.
It will provide one final test for both teams before the 2017 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour begins with the Fort Lauderdale Major Series begins on February 7.
Also in action is one half of the women’s Rio 2016 silver medallists Agatha Bednarczuk, who will play alongside Eduarda ‘Duda’ Santos Lisboa, following her split from Barbara Seixas at the end of 2016.
