Fort Lauderdale Major finds its men’s medallists

 
Fort Lauderdale, USA, February 12, 2017 - Super Saturday at the first FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour event of 2017 saw a final four showdown between two Brazilian teams and two American teams.




The Fort Lauderdale Major team were up and early for preparations for the penultimate day of competition.




Australian celebrity Beau Brooks was back around Fort Lauderdale Beach Park to enjoy the highlights and sidelights.




The United States’ Phil Dalhausser wowed the crowd with this solid point in the semifinal against Brazil.




Brazilian duo Evandro Gonçalves and Andre Loyola took the 2-0 win (21-16, 21-19) to head to the finale.




No gold for Americans Dalhausser/Lucena, but no regrets either for their bronze medal at home.




Nothing but positives as well for Canada’s Sam Pedlow who finished in the top ten with teammate Sam Schachter.




Alvaro Filho and Saymon Barbosa Santos, the toast of Brazil’s new generation of champions, celebrated their gold medal with some bubbly.




Fans stayed on to cap their evening with the women’s semifinal match, once again, between the United States and Brazil.
 



World Champion and Olympic silver medallist Agatha Bednarczuk flashed her golden smile as she and first-time partner Eduarda “Duda” Lisboa emerged with triumph against USA’s April Ross/Kerri Walsh Jennings.
