Pacific Harbour Open postponed following heavy rainfall and flooding in Fiji

 
Lausanne, Switzerland, December 20, 2016 - The International Volleyball Federation has confirmed the postponement of the one star double gender FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour event in Pacific Harbour, Fiji following heavy rainfall and flooding caused by a tropical depression.

The Pacific Harbour Open, which was scheduled to take place from January 12-14, will be held later in the year following a request from the event organisers. The new event dates will be confirmed in due course.

Following the postponement of the event in Fiji, the 2017 edition of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour will now begin at the five star Fort Lauderdale Major, which will welcome World Tour athletes from February 7 to 12 in Florida, USA.

The 2017 calendar includes a total of 24 events and features single gender events in Kish Island and Espinho (men) and in Sydney, Daegu, Ulsan and Monaco (women). The remaining 19 events will be double gender.

The signature event will be staged July 28 through August 6 in Austria when Vienna hosts the $1-million FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships for men and women on Danube Island.
