“I would like to sincerely thank the management of the Czech Volleyball Federation and Martin Lebl who first approached me to discuss the possibility to become the coach of the Czech men’s national beach volleyball team,” Tomatis said. “It has always been a big dream of mine to be the coach of a national team. Together with my colleague who is responsible for physical training we will immediately start carrying out some tests that will be lasting for a few days to better evaluate the potential and strengths of the players we will be working with.”

After travelling to Prague on Monday morning, Tomatis carried out the first tests in the afternoon of the same day. “As for the development of the Czech national team, we want to follow the latest and most modern coaching trends in Europe and as a result we have decided to work with a foreign-born coach who will bring to our beach volleyball teams his wide knowledge, expertise and professionalism,” Martin Lebl said commenting on the appointment of Tomatis.
