Final four unveiled at Kish Island 3 Star

 
Kish Island, Iran, February 18, 2017 - The semifinalists of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Kish Island 3-Star event were confirmed on Friday as teams continued to share their thoughts on challenges and opportunities linked to the new format of play.




Australia’s Cole Durant and Zachery Schubert exploded in this 2-1 victory (19-21, 21-19, 18-16) against Iran’s Rahman Raoufi and Bahman Salemiinjerboroun on Thursday.




By Friday, the Australians dropped out of competition (following a 2-0 (21-16, 21-7) loss against Poland’s Piotr Kantor/Bartosz Losiak) but sat down to answer fans’ questions via #QuickSets.




Three Russian teams (Nikita Liamin/Viacheslav Krasilnikov, Oleg Stoyanovskiy/Artem Yarzutkin, Maxim Sivolap/Igor Velichko) marched on to the quarterfinals.




Russia's Stoyanovskiy/Yarzutkin faced off with Poland’s Kantor/Losiak in the semifinals on Saturday, marking the second consecutive semis appearance for both teams in Kish Island.




Another Russian duo Liamin/Krasilnikov are through to the semifinals, and will face Germans Lorenz Schümann and Julius Thole, who sent their greetings all the way home.




But everyone should watch out for the newest beach volleyball pair which debuted on Friday.




And one of them took to dancing to celebrate another great day of beach volleyball in Kish Island.
