Social Media Review: Langkawi lauds victors of inaugural Malaysia Open

 
Langkawi, Malaysia, April 17, 2017 - All eyes latched onto Langkawi as the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour - Malaysia Open staged the semifinals and medal matches on Sunday.




Pantai Cenang offered a warm and fuzzy welcome to beach volleyball fans.




Nivaldo Diaz and Sergio Gonzalez were cheered on back home in Cuba for their feats on Saturday.




The Cuban duo went on to win gold on Sunday, as they triumphed over Austria’s Peter Eglseer and Florian Schnetzer 2-0 (21-17, 21-18).




In the all-Austrian bronze medal match, Cornelia Rimser/Lena Plesiutschnig bested sisters Nadine and Teresa Strauss in straight sets 2-0 (21-18, 21-13).




The United States’ Kimberly Dicello and Emily Stockman won the tie-break and the gold medal over the Czech Republic’s Sarka Nakladalova and Martina Bonnerova.




Americans Dicello and Stockman savoured the sweet taste of victory in their first World Tour season together.
