Agatha Bednarczuk, Brazil – “It’s a beautiful start for us and hopefully that will make a difference as the tournament goes on as we’ll avoid an extra elimination game on Friday. We were determined to finish first in our pool and we really focused on it. We didn’t play well in the World Championships and that was a motivation for us to get back to Brazil and work hard to be in good shape here”.
Duda Lisboa, Brazil – “We want to finish the season strong and we prepared really well to play here. It’s working so far and I hope it stays the same way in the elimination round. The Americans are a very hard team to play against. They are in good shape and we had to focus on our side out and to do a very good job on our strategy”.
Lauren Fendrick, United States – “It was definitely not our best match. They played well and made some adjustments that made us struggle a little bit. We figured out something on our setting that we’ll work to fix for tomorrow. We also need to bring more fire and more energy. We were a little bit flat”.
April Ross, United States – “They played much better than the Swiss team did this morning. I think we had a little bit more adrenaline on our first match. We came out really, really flat on this one. I think it was really an energy thing for us. They played really well though”.
