Iran’s Amiri/Sadeghi Malati advance to Kish Island main draw

 
Kish Island, Iran, February 15, 2017 – Mojtaba Amiri and Mohammad Sadeghi Malati emerged as the only Iranian pair fielded in the qualification round to advance to the main draw of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Kish Island 3-Star 2017 on Wednesday.

Amiri/Sadeghi Malati defeated Heidrich/Kissling of Switzerland in the qualification round of Kish Island 3-Star

Amiri/Sadeghi Malati did not let their home fans down when they won 2-0 (21-19, 21-17) over Adrian Heidrich and Gabriel Kissling of Switzerland. The hosts rebounded after Australia’s Cole Durant/Zachery Schubert and Austria’s Daniel Hupfer/Julian Horl eliminated the other Iranian pairs Reza Assari Naeini/Rasoul Khajeh and Amir Shoushtarizadeh/Behnam Tavakoli, respectively.

Russian pairs Ruslan Daianov/Yury Bogatov and Maxim Sivolap/Igor Velichko and France’s Arnaud Loiseau and Arnaud Gauthier-Rat claimed straight-set victories to move to the next round.

Meanwhile, Jasper Bouter and Tom Van Steenis of the Netherlands and Tim Holler and Sven Winter of Germany needed three sets to complete their match wins that will allow them to advance to the main draw’s Round of 32 eliminations.
