Osasco, Brazil, July 9, 2020 – Tandara Caixeta has played in 11 different clubs during her career, but there’s just one place she learned to call home during that time. And the 31-year-old opposite will be back with the club during the 2020-2021 season after returning to Osasco for a fourth stint with the team.
The Brazilian standout, who spent the last year with rivals SESC, has played for Osasco in four different seasons over the last 13 years. Her first time with the club was during 2007-2008. She returned to the team in 2011-2012 and rejoined the Sao Paulo side for two consecutive seasons between 2016 and 2018.
“I love this club and this city,” Tandara said. “The first time I played here I was welcomed in such a special way by everyone. I have a house here since that time and my daughter (four-year-old Maria Clara) loves being here, so it’s great to be back from a personal standpoint as well. I can’t wait to start training and playing so I can meet the fantastic fans Osasco has. I have really high hopes for the next season and I can assure you our team will fight with everything it’s got to win titles.”
Tandara has already helped Osasco to important victories. She was part of the rosters that won the 2011-2012 Brazilian Superliga, the 2017-2018 Brazilian Cup, the 2011-2012 South American Championship and the bronze medal at the 2011 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship.
She has also been a regular on the Brazilian national team since 2011 and was with the squad that won gold at the London 2012 Olympics. Over the last decade, she has also helped the South Americans to victory in the 2014, 2016 and 2017 editions of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix and the 2013 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup. At the international level, she was also awarded as the best opposite of the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Nations League and of the 2017 World Grand Champions Cup.
Osasco will start training next week and have also announced star libero Camila Brait will remain with the team for a 13th season with the club. The team also includes other past and present members of the Brazilian national team, including two-time Olympic champion outside hitter Jaqueline Carvalho, setter Roberta Ratzke and middle blocker Ana Beatriz Correa.
