USA field mix of experience and youth for VNL

 
Lausanne, Switzerland, April 25, 2018 - With under a month to go, USA released their wide roster of 26 players for the inaugural FIVB Volleyball Nations League, setting up a team that combines years of experience on the world's courts with a youthful players that will hopefully bring a renewed vitality to the side.

USA begin their VNL adventure hosting Italy, Turkey and Poland at home in the opening week, May 15-17 in Lincoln, Nebraska, before going on the road for the remaining four weeks of pool play.



"Our 2018 eligibility roster contains a blend of experience and youth," said Head Coach Karch Kiraly. "From returning Olympic medallists to people barely out of college, we're thrilled to see how this group comes together during a challenging five weeks of preliminary competition, and thrilled to be preparing for the first-ever Volleyball Nations League."

The full list of 26 USA players:

Setters: Lauren Carlini, Lexi Dannemiller, Micha Hancock, Carli Lloyd.
Opposites: Annie Drews, Kelly Murphy, Krystal Rivers, Aiyana Whitney.
Outside Hitters: Michelle Bartsch-Hackley, Megan Courtney, Kim Hill, Madi Kingdon, Jordan Larson, Kelsey Robinson, Kadie Rolfze, Sarah Wilhite.
Middle Blockers: Rachael Adams, Foluke Akinradewo, Tori Dixon, Lauren Gibbemeyer, Molly McCage, Chiaka Ogbogu, Paige Tapp.
Liberos: Amanda Benson, Caroline Knop, Justine Wong-Orantes.
