Situated on China's eastern coastline, Shanghai has four distinct seasons and a population of over 13 million. Its inhabitants, among the most hospitable and cheerful in the world, reflect the colour and diversity of the city in which they live.

In addition to hosting ten FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour events, Shanghai is noted for its many festivals including the Shanghai Tourism Festival, the Longhua Temple Bell Striking on New Year’s Eve, the Longhua Temple Fair, the International Tea Culture Festival and the Orange Festival.

For shoppers, culinary connoisseurs and sight-seers, Shanghai is worth the visit especially for its Jim Mao Tower which at 480 meters is China’s tallest building.

The Chinese city has often been referred to as a ‘shoppers paradise’ and all tastes are catered to in Shanghai.  French, Russian, Italian, English, Japanese and Indian cuisine can be found alongside sixteen styles of Chinese food that can be tasted in over 1,000 restaurants throughout the city.
