Beach volleyball returns to Thailand

Pattaya will welcome the 2014 FIVB Beach Volleyball Challenger to its shores from November 5 – 9 with a $50,000 prize pot up for grabs.

The beach resort sits on the eastern coast of the country and sees the world’s top beach volleyball players return to its shores for the first time since 2003 when it hosted the FIVB Beach Volleyball U21 World Championships. It has also previously hosted a Challenger event in 2001.

Beach volleyball has always had a popular following in Thailand with the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour having stopped in Phuket from 2006 – 2013. Bang Saen also welcomed an Open event in 2012 while Bangkok hosted a FIVB Challenger in 2005.
