Eight left for four Main Draw tickets at Aalsmeer Open

 
Lausanne, Switzerland, October 25, 2017 - Four teams advanced to Round II of the qualifiers in the men's tournament of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Aalsmeer Open Wednesday night in the Netherlands to make up the final lineup of eight pairs vying for four spots in the Main Draw of the event.



In what developed into match of the day, the Ukraine's Evgen Zhuralev / Iaroslav Gordieiev edged Canada's Fiodar Kazhamiaka / Sergiy Grabovskyy 2-1 (21-17, 14-21, 15-12). It was the only match of the men's tournament on the opening day to go to three sets.

In other action on Wednesday, the Czech Reopublic's Jan Dumek / David Lenc, Sweden's Martin Appelgren / Simon Boman and Japan's Yu Koshikawa / Yoshiumi Hasegawa also advanced to Round II.



Men's play in Aalsmeer continues with Round II on Thursday morning, ahead of the 16-team, single elimination Main Draw over the weekend.

The competition is streamed live on the Dutch Volleyball Federation (NeVoBo) YouTube Channel.
