Beach Volleyball World Championships - Day 1

Vienna, Austria, July 28, 2017 - Dries Koekelkoren/Tom van Walle of Belgium and Sarah Pavan/Melissa Humana-Paredes of Canada claimed today's opening match victories on Courts 2 and 3 at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships Vienna 2017 presented by A1.

The Belgian pair defeated Edgars Tocs/Rihards Finsters of Latvia on Court 2 in the men's match, while the Canadian women were victorious against Marleen van Iersel/Manon Flier of the Netherlands on Court 3.

A total of 28 matches will be played on Day 1 of the World Championships with Centre Court action beginning at 12.00 local time/10.00 GMT when Evandro Gonçalves/Andre Loyola of Brazil take on Dutch pair Christiaan Varenhorst/Maarten van Garderen.
