Gibb will be competing in his seventh-straight FIVB World Championships with his fourth partner as the three-time Olympian is playing with “new” partner Taylor Crabb, who will be competing in the event for the first-time. Qualifying via the FIVB World Tour ranking, Gibb is seeking to reach the world championship “final four” for the first-time after finishing fifth twice with Sean Rosenthal (2007 and 2009) and once with Casey Patterson (2015). The 41-year old Gibb has been playing on the FIVB World Tour since 2005 when he was named the circuit’s rookie-of-the year. In 2012, Gibb and Rosenthal finished atop the FIVB points standings. Crabb joined the international tour in 2015 and has posted his best FIVB finishes (fifths in 2017) with Gibb.
