Curitiba hosts best pairs in fourth stage of Brazilian Tour

 
Curitiba, Brazil, November 17, 2016 – The city of Curitiba will host the fourth stage of the Brazilian Tour for the 2016/2017 season, featuring Brazil’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games athletes in Parque Barigui from November 17 to 20.


Rio 2016 champions Alison Cerutti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt topbill the men’s event, while Larissa Franca and Talita Antunes lead the women’s tournament.

In the women’s tournament, Larissa/Talita lead the ranking with 1,120 points earned from victories in Campo Grande, Brasilia and Uberlandia.

Three different winners emerged in the men’s tournament. Ricardo/Andre Stein won in Campo Grande, Alvaro Filho/Saymon won in Brasilia, Alison/Bruno Schmidt dominated in Uberlandia. Alvaro Filho/Saymon lead the men’s ranking with 1,120 points.

Curitiba has hosted 12 of the 18 stages of the Brazilian Tour organised in the state of Parana. Londrina also hosted the tour four times, while Foz do Iguacu also played as tour hosts.

Parana is known for its strength in discovering new talents and is the hometown of Rio 2016 Olympic Games silver medallist Agatha Bednarczuk. The fourth stage features two promising athletes from Parana, Arthur Lanci and Edward David. Arthur Lanci is a world champion in the U19 and U21 age category, while his partner Edward David is a Brazilian champion in the U21 and U23 category.
