Duda: “We were focused to have a good start”

Agatha Bednarczuk, Brazil – “We started the game really strong. We had played them before twice this season and we studied their game a lot. I hope we can do our best in the upcoming matches. We trained a lot and we are happy to be here. We are third in the world rankings now and we are happy about the season we had”.

Duda Lisboa, Brazil – “We were really focused to have a good start here. We were back in Rio de Janeiro during the last two weeks after two months on the road and it was very good for us to be home for a while and prepare well for this tournament, which is a very important one. We played well as a team and were really happy on the court”.

Tanja Huberli, Switzerland – “We were struggling on side out. We didn’t passing very and our hits were not so efficient. We definitely had less breaks than we usually do and that’s how we win games. We didn’t get enough today. We need to learn from this game and give everything on the next matches”.

Nina Betschart, Switzerland - "It’s really exciting for us to play here. We got the wildcard and we’re really delighted that we can play without pressure and that we won’t feel too sad if it’s not enough. We just need to be consistent but the experience of a tournament like this will help us".
