A recipient “wild card” for the 2017 FIVB World Championships, Borger will be playing in her third worlds after placing second and 17th with Britta Buthe in the past two editions in Poland and The Netherlands, respectively. Kozuch will be competing in her first Beach Volleyball world championships after competing for 11 seasons for the German National Team. While Kozuch is playing her first season on the FIVB World Tour, Borger has been a regular since 2009 with a 2014 gold medal finish with Buthe at Lucerne, Switzerland. Borger and Buthe, who also won a 2011 FIVB challenger/satellite event in Korea, competed in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games where the pair placed ninth. Overall, Borger and Buthe collected six World Tour medals in 65 events.
