In becoming the first men’s or women’s team from Colombia to compete in the FIVB World Championships, Galindos qualified for the 2017 Vienna event via the South American continental process. The pair has been competing together on the South American tour since 2011 with one gold medal to their credit in 2014. On the 2017 South American tour, the Colombians have posted a third, two fifths, a seventh and a ninth in five events. The Galindos, who have posted two fifths and a sixth in three PanAm Games, advanced to the final stage of qualifying for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games where the pair won one of four matches in Sochi, Russia.
