Hamburg, Germany, August 26 - Over the past 50 days, Talita Antunes and Larissa Franca of Brazil have won 17 matches and four of the victories have been triumphs over Canadians Melissa Humana-Paredes and Sarah Pavan.
Win No. 4 was achieved here Saturday in the bronze medal match at the US$800,000 SWATCH FIVB World Tour Finals where Talita and Larissa remained "perfect" against the Canadians with a 2-0 (21-17, 21-19) win in 36 minutes over Humana-Paredes and Pavan.
All four matches have been in the "final four" rounds at FIVB World Tour events starting with the semi-finals in Switzerland (July 8 in Gstaad), the gold medal match in Poland (July 23 in Olsztyn) and the bronze medal contest at the FIVB World Championships in Austria (August 5 in Vienna).
With the win, Talita and Larissa split $50,000 for the bronze medal finish while the Canadians shared $35,000.
