Social Media Review: DELA Beach Open heats up with main draw matches

 
The Hague, The Netherlands, June 16, 2017 - The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour DELA Beach Open moved into the Main Draw on Thursday, with teams racing towards the top of the pools in The Hague.




United States’ Brittany Hochevar and Emily Day moved from Qualification to the top of their pool.




Swiss duo Joana Heidrich and Anouk Vergé-Depré likewise ruled their pool with straight-set wins against Ukraine and Brazil.




Australia’s Mariafe Artacho and Jessyka Ngauamo will continue to fight in the Main Draw after winning the tie-break against Czech Republic’s Kristyna Kolocova / Michala Kvapilová.



Canada’s Taylor Pischke and Kristina May will likewise move on to the next round.




The Netherlands’ Manon Nummerdor-Flier and Marleen Ramond-Van Iersel split their pool matches, to face Brazil’s Agatha Bednarczuk / Duda Santos on Friday.



The men’s teams played their first match for pool play on Thursday.
Russia’s Viacheslav Krasilnikov / Nikita Liamin beat Germany’s Lorenz Schümann / Julius Thole (21-18, 18-21, 15-12).



Latvia’s Martins Plavins / Haralds Regza defeated Austria’s Thomas Kunert / Christoph Dressler , (21-18, 21-15).



Hometown Beach Boys Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen took their royal costumes a level further,



and reigned over Turkey’s Murat Giginoglu / Safa Urlu: 21-17, 21-19.





Qatar’s Jefferson Santos Pereira /Cherif Younousse must also have felt like kings after winning against Belgium’s Dries Koekelkoren / Tom Van Walle in straight sets.






The Dutch will delight in this weekend’s double-header of World Tour and World League matches.






Meanwhile, spectators continue to enjoy the action (and this selfie) at the Sportcampus Zuiderpark.
