Kish Island, Iran, February 18, 2017 – The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour launched its new star-based structure at the men’s only Kish Island 3-Star 2017, implementing a single elimination format.
Beach volleyball athletes and fans have spoken and have given positive feedback on the new format, which will be used at all 1-Star to 4-Star events.
The new single elimination format delivers the best possible challenges and opportunities for athletes and fans. With the new format in place, athletes need to be always on top of their game and treat each match as a final, which generates better entertainment value and greater spectator attention.
