Social Media Review: Action gets under way in Rio

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, May 17, 2017 - The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour got under way on Wednesday in Rio's Olympic Park, and the Olympic tennis stadium and surrounding courts were ready for the big day.

Some of the top teams already got in some practice time on this week's centre court earlier in the week.

Wednesday was qualifying day, and teams hoping to move on to Thursday's main draw were ready to go.

Women's qualifying was first, and Brazil were getting good results early.

The Dutch were also doing well in qualifying.

Brazil's Josi and Lili couldn't contain their smiles, as they won and were in the Main Draw.

The clouds hung around for most of the day, and that meant a little extra light was needed.

Men's qualifying was next, and one of Canada's best was anxious to start on Thursday.

Poland's been having a good run on the FIVB World Tour, and they got another team into the Main Draw.

Chile's Grimalt cousins also won on Thursday and were moving on.

Overall, a good day for the hosts, as Brazil got three more teams into Thursday's main draw.

That's all for qualifying day here in Rio. Main Draw play begins on Thursday!
